Music features highly in Hollybush PS. There is a strong tradition of music in the school which includes a programme of class lessons, choral work, ensemble work and musical productions.
Instrumental work is supported by EA Western Region Music Service and individual tuition is available from year 5 to 7.
The school also avails of the Musical Pathway to Learning Programme from EA. Although the focus of the programme is primarily music, the opportunity for the development of skills and learning in other areas is also promoted.
The Programme has been shown to:-
- Improve Literacy and Numeracy skills
- Build self-confidence and self-esteem.
- Develop Social and Communication skills
It is hoped that children will gain a positive and rewarding experience of Music in Hollybush Primary School through a varied programme that is both educational and fun.
