Principal's Welcome

Principal.jpgI welcome you to the Platform for Hollybush Primary and Nursery School and hope it will give you a flavour of life in our beautiful school.

At Hollybush we strive to deliver high quality education which affords each child opportunities, both during the school day, and through extra Curricular Activities, to develop his/her full potential - academically, physically, spiritually, morally and socially. It is our aspiration that each child will be happy and contented in Hollybush and we will endeavour to make this a reality for all our pupils.

As a Catholic school the children will be invited to come to know God in their lives through daily prayer, liturgical experiences, sacramental practice and the development of their knowledge of bible stories. We welcome those of other religious denominations and will always show respect and reverence for their beliefs and values.

The quality of provision at Hollybush Primary and Nursery School was affirmed by the ETI Inspection report in November 2013 when all aspects of school life were deemed outstanding. The full report can be viewed on the ETI website.https://www.etini.gov.uk/publications/primary-inspection-hollybush-primary-school-and-nursery-unit-culmore-derry

We view parental involvement as essential to a child's successful engagement with school. Parents are invited to support their children's learning. The relationship between staff and parents is epitomised as one of mutual respect borne from a desire to allow each child to develop and flourish to their optimum level.

Hollybush views itself as part of the community of Culmore and, as such, wants to play its full part in developing the children so that they may grow into confident adults, well placed to contribute positively to their community.

At Hollybush we will strive to continue to provide outstanding education for your child, ensuring their experiences here at Hollybush are both happy and fulfilling.
