Religious Education
Our Catholic ethos forms the cornerstone of all our work at Hollybush. Together with parents, who are the first educators, the Chaplain and the Parish we aim to create an environment where children can become more Christ-like and develop a living Catholic faith in which they can be active participants.
The staff and Chaplain work closely to provide many opportunities for the growth and development of the children’s faith through daily prayer, weekly assemblies, school Masses, classroom sacred spaces, meditation sessions, delivery of the Grow in Love programme, religious plays, involvement in Parish events and visits to Church.
The school has a vibrant faith life and links with the Parish are very good. We feel privileged to support the parents in the preparation of the children for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation.
In partnership with Thornhill College we have developed the ‘Faith Friends’ programme to aid in preparation of receiving the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.
Through these links the children engage in activities which allow them to explore and respect each other’s cultural identity and traditions.
